சார் நீங்க என்ன ஜாதி ?

சமீபத்தில் மத்திய அரசு அலுவலகத்தில் வேலை செய்யும் ஒரு உறவினருடன் பேசும்போது அவர் தன்னுடன் பணியாற்றும் அனைவரையும் அவர்களின் சாதியின் பெயரைக் கூறிப்பிட்டுப் பேசினார். சம்பந்தமே இல்லாமல் இவர் எதற்கு சாதியை இழுக்கிறார் என்று நினைத்தேன். உறவினர் என்பதால் நான் அதற்கு எதிர்வினைக் கூற முயலவில்லை. 

வேறு பல சந்தர்பங்களில் நான் தெரிந்துக்கொண்டது- அரசு வேலையில் இருப்பவர்கள் அனேகமாக தங்களுடன் பணிபுறியும் சக ஊழியர்கள் எந்த எந்த சாதியினர் என்பதை அறிந்து அதற்கு எற்றாற்போல் செயல் படுகின்றார்கள்.

அரசுத்துறை இப்படி இருக்க தனியார் மட்டும் என்ன விதிவிலக்கா? சாதி வாரியான இட ஒதுக்கீடு இல்லையே தவிர சிலர் மனதில் சாதியையும் மதத்தையும் சுமந்துக்கொண்டு தான் இருக்கின்றார்கள்.

நான் கேட்ட சில “சாதி” ரிதியான வாக்கியங்கள்,

“..அவளுக்கு என்ன __ராச்சே. எங்க போனாலும் பொழச்சிப” 

“..இந்த __ பயலுங்களே இப்படித்தான்”

இப்படி சாதியை மேற்கொள் காட்டி ஒருவரின் character-ரை தீர்மானிக்கின்றனர். அரசுத்துறையில்லாவது application form முதல் எல்லா bio-date/profile formகளில் சாதியை கூறிப்பிடவேண்டும். ஆனால் தனியார்துறையில் அப்படி இல்லை. இப்படி இருக்கையில் எப்படி எப்படியோ துருவி அடுத்தவனின் சாதியை கண்டுபிடிக்கும் சகாக்களே வாங்குற சம்பளத்துக்கு கொஞ்சமாவது வேலை செய்க!!

Tamil Nadu in Numbers - 1

An attempt to get the numbers of my state Tamil Nadu. I tried to put the good ones, more over I didn't find bad ones!.

Just to get a feel of its size the following numbers might be helpful, like starters,

Area:- 11th biggest among all states.
Population: 7th highest among all states.

Welfare Numbers:-

Human Development Index (HDI), 8th (.547) among states. It is calculated by taking the life expectancy, education and income. TN HDI is more than national average (.467). Will get more details later on this.

Life Expectancy - 64 years - Ranking 5th among the states, national average 61 years.

Money.. Money.. Money.. GDP (Nominal) 

Tax Revenues (2010 - 15) -

Tamil Nadu is the 4th largest tax revenue generating state behind Maharashtra, AP and UP.

HIV Awareness -

Tamil Nadu ranks 3rd (98% males - 94% Female) in HIV awareness behind Kerala (99-95) and Manipur (99 - 99). Least Jharkhand (53-29). National (80-57).

Reservation Policy-

Tamil Nadu now has 69 per cent reservation in educational institutions for socially backward section of the society, the highest among all Indian states

According to Transparency International India, on the scale of Alarming, Very high, High and Moderate- Tamil Nadu features in Very High band in corruption across the public services.

வேலை இல்லாதவன் பூனை மையிர செரசான்னா

There are lots of problems and issues to be taken care by the govt, they should concentrate on these issues rather is going gaga over a movie.

Vathachi Judgement

All the convicts were Tamil Nadu Governement Officials, serving the country in the name of law

I am ashamed to write this, that even in this time there are atrocities done on the basis of caste. More worried when it happens in my native. One such caste based atrocity happened a long time back in 1992, in a villiage called Vathachi, near Dharmapuri. This was the peak period of Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, Jayalalitha has set foot in the assembly, Rajiv Gandhi was just cremated in Delhi, at this time a group of hooligans (it was TN govt. officials) from various departments like Forest, Revenue and Police entered the village in search of smuggled Sandalwood. What they found was the way to lose their sanity, they lost their minds. In this process they just demolished the village, killed the villagers livelihood, raped and tortured women.

With more than 200 officials entering into the village, they repeatedly raped 18 women. In a landmark identification parade, with 1000’s of officers, this was done by a batch of 50’s, those 18 women waved their right to anonymity to identify the culprits (read as you wish like ugly old dogs, fu___kers.) Ananda Vikatan, a leading Tamil Media say that the torture done to those women are “NOT PRINTABLE”.

The judgement came on September last month, convicting 269 people, of which 54 has died ( If there was a hell, I wish they had a good time there) and this is a record that all the convicts were government officials. SHAME.

Dailt colony fenced by the upper caste people in Krishnagiri

In the wake of Periyar and the Dravidian parties, I always thought the Tamilians has shed their caste-based segregation. They have shed it only in their names; we seldom see a surname Goundar, Naicker, Ayer, Ayyangar, Devar etc., but deep inside most of them are growing and rooting for their caste. Worst is those Dravidian parties, headed by stalwarts of atheistic beliefs are nurturing the caste-based politics in breaking the harmony among the people.

We still have separate tea-glass for dalits in some places, they can’t enter the upper caste streets, and sometimes the upper caste people fence the street and block the access to dalit’s area.

 

I HATE CASTE, in whatever form it may be in.
