This is a short video which was made by an independent filmmaker (Wyne) from Burma (Myanmar). It is a 17-minutes satire film. Short film, so a short article.
The Plot
A film maker approaches the censor board to certify his film. The board consisting of some 15-20 people from different government departments watches the film. Every member voices their opinion and asks\argue to remove certain scenes from the film. The actual film ends in a chaos.
Few banned items proposed by the officials- Shots & Reason.
- Scene showing beggar- Other countries will think Myanmar is full of beggars.
- Women dressing.
- Men and women “talking” about love.
- Government official taking bribe.
- Power Outages. Yes!
The short-film, mocks at the pitiable state of the certifying authority. I equate this film to the recent happenings in the Indian Censor Board (CBFC) releasing a list words which should be banned in the films.
